When Ultimate Flexibility and Elasticity are a Must, consider Pure Gum Rubber, the Natural Rubber Compound. Sarah Bereiter 09/23/05 Rubber-Cal Inc.
Pure Gum Sheet Rubber sheeting rolls are a natural form of rubber. Because this rubber compound comes directly from the rubber tree, it is tan in color (compared to most industrial sheet rubbers that are black) and naturally soft. One of the advantages of the tan color is that it is non-marking, that is, it will not leave black scuff marks as many black sheet rubbers will. This makes Pure Gum Rubber sheets useful for applications varying from padding behind a baseball catcher to industrial or medical gaskets that must not leave marks while sealing.
At a 35-45 durometer this product is extremely flexible. Along with it's excellent flexibility, Pure Gum Rubber is amazingly stretchy, at a 600% minimum elongation, meaning that this product can stretch more than 6 times it's original size. (For an equally stretchable black sheet rubber consider our Xtra Soft Neoprene.)
Pure Gum Rubber is available in sections from 3 to 50 linear feet and in thicknesses ranging from 1/6" to 1" (larger gauges are available in 25 foot rolls). Because of Pure Gum Rubber's exceptional pliability and elasticity, it can be used for drum pads, squeegee parts, some medical applications, and any application where a stretchy, elastic, and/or organic material is preferred as opposed to traditional black sheet rubber. This product can also be trimmed into seals, gaskets, strips, etc. for industrial or commercial uses (depending upon the applications).
For large orders, Pure Gum sheet rubber also can be die, water jet, or laser cut to your specifications. Send us a drawing and we'll let you know what services we can provide you. For specifications please visit the "Pure Gum" link.
