If you've ever noticed the floor at your local commercial gym and wondered where they get those large rubber tiles, we've got them.  Rubber-Cal offers Rubber Tiles in a variety of thicknesses and colors to give you a broad selection.  Rubber flooring is also available in rolls.  Which product you choose depends completely on your specific application.

Some commercial gyms tend to lean toward Tiled Flooring versus Rolled Flooring.  Rubber Tiles offer certain advantages for high traffic areas.  For example, some areas may experience more wear than others.  Tiled flooring offers the option of simply replacing the tiles that are more worn instead of replacing larger sections, or the entire floor.

Rubber-Cal's 1 inch Tiles offer an interconnecting pin option.  These pins hold the tiles together and eliminate the need for adhesive.  As a result, the replacement of a few tiles in high wear areas is a simple process that can be done in moments (therefore avoiding late after hours work or having to close for a few days to replace the entire floor).  Tiles that are adhered to the subsurface can still be individually replaced.  However, the process for removing a tile that has been glued down is obviously more intricate and involved.

Yet another advantage of Tiled Rubber Flooring is that it is available in thicker gauges.  Obviously, the thicker the gauge of rubber product, the more floor and equipment protection it will create.  Commercial gyms are more likely to require the support that thicker rubber products can provide.

For some Commercial gyms and most home gyms, we also recommend our Elephant Bark Rolled Rubber Flooring.  The advantage of using a rolled rubber flooring product is that it will clearly have less seams in the end result.  Elephant Bark also tends to be a simpler installation process, especially since we will custom cut the lengths for you.  We particularly recommend this for home gyms since it is easier to install and because even though it isn't as thick as the tiled flooring, it is sufficient floor and equipment protection for home gyms.  Commercial gyms should usually opt for a permanent installation with a polyurethane adhesive with this product, but for home gyms (which obviously are not going to be as high traffic) double-sided carpet tape combined with the weight of your exercise equipment is enough to hold this rubber matting in place.
