Why Rubber-Cal's playground surfacing? Our rubber playground surfacing offers an excellent soft surface for any residential or commercial playground. The ease of installation and disassembly, gives our modular tiles longer life, lower entry costs, and makes them accessible by virtually any individual or firm. Either the Eco-Sport or the Eco-Play Safety tiles can be installed with a 3 inch plastic interconnecting pin which is placed horizontally between adjacent tiles. Unlike pour-in-place rubber surfacing, if an area is damaged, the costs of replacement are minimal and the process extremely fast. All that is needed are the replacement tiles. This ease of installation also limits installation costs which otherwise would require specialty contractors. Our product is cheaper and easier to install than any mulch rubber. It is not affected by rain or wind, it does not disperse, and does not require re-mulching, ever. We think you will find our product a wonderful addition to your backyards, play areas, decks, pool areas, or roof-tops. The soft and elastic rubber tiles will be a comfortable and warm surface for you and you loved ones for years to come!
Why rubber playground surfacing? "Since almost 60% of all injuries are caused by falls to the ground, protective surfacing under and around all playground equipment is the most critical safety factor. Asphalt and concrete are unacceptable. They do not have any shock absorbing properties. Similarly, grass and turf should not be used. Their ability to absorb shock during a fall can be reduced considerably through wear and environmental conditions." "The surface under and around playground equipment can be a major factor in determining the injury causing potential of a fall. A fall onto a shock absorbing surface is less likely to cause a serious injury than a fall onto a hard surface. Because head impact injuries from a fall have the potential for being life threatening, the more shock absorbing a surface can be made, the greater is the likelihood of reducing severe injuries. However, it should be recognized that some injuries from falls will occur no matter what playground surfacing material is used. A fall zone, covered with a protective surfacing material, is essential under and around equipment where a child might fall. This area should be free of other equipment and obstacles."
