When it comes to gym flooring, rubber is one of the leading competitors in surfacing products today. Just enter any commercial gym and the first flooring material you will likely see is some kind of rubber in the form of tile, roll, or mat. Rubber is made of materials that allow for optimal durability, resilience, and versatility in use and application. This is why gym flooring tiles made of rubber are so commonly found in both commercial gyms and private residential gyms. They are safe for all types of full body exercises, including high-impact workouts like P90x, or floor-based exercises like yoga and many ab workouts. Gym flooring tiles made of rubber make for an excellent shock absorbent surface not just for intense cardio workouts, but also for any bodybuilders coming into the gym for heavy lifting.

It is important to remember that the ideal gym flooring for weight training equipment would be able to withstand the impact of falling or dropped weights. Rubber interlocking gym tiles are helpful for ensuring that any and all areas of the gym floor are resistant to damage by exercise equipment or contact from various workouts. With this said, there are a few ways that rubber can be purchased and applied in order to create the ideal gym flooring experience. Rubber gym floors are ideal for enhancing comfort and providing traction for its users. Complete rubber flooring can come as tiles or as rolls, and in most cases, gym flooring tiles made of rubber would be the most favorable kind of application for general gym going needs.

The most widely known benefit or quality of rubber is that it is durable. Rubber gym floors are strong and resilient enough to endure a variety of conditions and are quite long-lasting. Between interlocking rubber gym tiles and rubber rolls, gym flooring tiles make for a more favorable choice because of their overall thickness which can also help with durability. While rubber rolls may be easier to lay out across a large space, they are usually not as thick as rubber gym flooring tiles and would not do as well to protect the surface beneath it. More importantly, they would not protect the gym goers quite as well either. The thicker the rubber, the more durability it offers and the more it can handle the wear and tear of everyday gym use.

Although rubber gym floors are so popularly known for their durability and thickness, that does not take away from its quality of comfort and softness. In a gym setting, rubber gym flooring tiles are perfect for their versatility. Whereas rubber rolls are thinner in comparison to its tile counterpart, gym tiles made of rubber have a durable but also comfortable quality about them that is perfect for both lightweight exercises and intense powerlifting workouts. Along with this quality of softness and comfort, thick gym flooring tiles also absorbs contact incredibly well, meaning that they help in decreasing noise from impact or just natural footfall. Especially in a public, commercial gym setting, high-traffic surfaces could use rubber gym tiles to help cushion the vibration and sound from frequent footfall and exercise equipment use.

For all of your gym floor needs, interlocking rubber gym flooring tiles are preferable to rubber rolls because of their easy installation, mobility, and diversity in design. While rubber rolls may be able to cover more ground at once than rubber gym tiles, they are heavy to transport and require multiple people in order to install. Gym flooring tiles, on the other hand, are a manageable size to carry and lay out and requires no adhesive for installation.

Something else to consider with installation is possible replacement of your gym flooring in the future. Although rubber is a durable material that can stand up to quite a bit of wear and tear, that does not mean that it is invincible to abuse. In the more frequented and utilized areas of your gym, there is bound to be more evidence of abrasion and fatigue there. With rubber rolls, it would be difficult, expensive, and inconvenient to replace the entire area just for one square-foot of flooring that might need repair. With interlocking gym flooring tiles, however, its easy installation and sizing allows for cheaper and more feasible replacement of flooring when only a small or centralized area needs to be changed. Since no adhesive is necessary to install rubber gym tiles, this also promises little to no damage to the surface beneath it. This is ideal especially for private gyms where gym flooring tiles may be used in order to cover residential flooring such as carpet, ceramic tile, or hardwood floor.

Perfect for personal trainers and mobile gyms, interlocking gym flooring tiles makes for an excellent flooring option because its easy installation also makes it easy to remove and transport from client location to client location. Gym tiles made of rubber are the ideal form of rubber gym flooring because a lot of wear and tear can happen during routine transport but tiling size and its rubber material makes it tough enough to withstand such conditions.

After concerns for durability, longevity, comfort, and installation are taken care of, rubber gym floors also need one more element: fun. Between commercial gyms and private home gyms, rubber gym floors can be found in a few different patterns and colors. Rubber rolls are intended to cover a large amount of space but do not allow as much variety because of this. Interlocking gym flooring tiles can be mixed and matched with different colors of tiles of the same size or cut.

Ideal fitness flooring involves a few different characteristics—all of which are present in interlocking rubber gym tiles. Their quality of thickness enhances durability and comfort while rubber rolls are usually thinner. They are not the most desirable form of rubber flooring because it doesn’t allow as much cushion and softness as their thicker rubber tiled counterpart. Gym flooring tiles made of rubber are also easy to install and perfect for transport because of rubber’s natural strength and resilience.

Any gym could get great use out of rubber gym flooring tiles, especially in a home gym space where the flooring beneath the rubber tiles might be more delicate.
