Rubber itself provides excellent surface grip, which is greatly increased by the protruding “Coin-Grip” pattern of these non-skid stair treads. DIY Installation: The “Coin-Grip” Commercial stair mats can be used seasonally or permanently, and are designed for quick and easy installations. For short-term applications it is best to secure the rubber stair treads with double-sided carpet tape. This installation provides a secure step, but it is not long-lasting and cannot endure excessive moisture. For more permanent use, it is instead recommended to use a polyurethane-based adhesive. Adhesive installations are moisture resistant, which is why we recommend this method for all exterior staircases.
