Tested for Durability: We have tested this rubber product in multiple environments for abrasion resistance, weather and ozone endurance, and impact absorption. This recycled rubber exceeds all requirement for all the mentioned criteria. Abrasion resistance means an ability to withstand the wear and tear of friction caused by mechanical parts, foot traffic and other surface contact. Rubber is used to protect two hard surfaces from one another. For examples in gyms, rubber flooring is used to protect the pricey subfloors from the expensive heavy barbells and dumbbells. Rubber is used because it is elastic, protective, and far less expensive than having to replace the subfloors or the equipment if there was damage.
Weather resistance is the ability of a material to prevent corrosion, loss of material or any sort of deterioration due to prolonged exposure to harsh environmental and weather conditions. As recycled rubber sheets are made from recycled tires, they inherit the superior weathering characteristics of rubber products. Tires are driven in any weather and perform when exposed to high speeds and yet they have life cycles that exceed expectations. Recycled rubber sheets made from tires show the same tenacity when exposed to the elements. Whether protecting from dropped dumbbells or mechanical parts or small devices, it is important to safeguard the potentially precious equipment and the floors. Thicknesses: In addition to the 9.5 millimeter (3/8-inch) thick rubber offered here, this durable and protective rubber is offered in 2 other thicknesses: 5mm (or just under 3/16-inch), and 1/4 inch (6.4mm).
