Product Description
If you need a rubber material for use in extreme temperature conditions where specific physical properties (e.g. FDA grade) are not a critical requirement, then consider acquiring this commercial grade gray silicone rubber sheet. Available in a unique gray color, this commercial grade silicone is perfect for use in situations that have extremely hot temperatures and extremely cold temperatures. This type of silicone sheet material is available in the thickness options of 1/32″, 1/16″, 1/8″, and 1/4″. A standard roll comes 36″ wide and up to 50ft long, although you can acquire shorter lengths upon request.
Excellent Temperature Range: There are many applications out there that involve extreme temperature conditions. Whether the conditions are hot or cold, there is a real risk of materials breaking down when exposed to elevated temperatures. Silicone rubber is different from most other elastomers because it can operate comfortably in extreme temperatures. This gray silicone rubber has a working temperature range of -103 F to 450 F, giving it the ability to survive in almost any extreme temperature application.
Material for Seals and Gaskets: Sheet rubber is regularly used to make different types of seals and gaskets for a variety of uses. This silicone (50 durometer) is available for custom fabrication if needed. Due to it’s lower durometer rating, this silicone sheet material is easier to cut. Fabrication options are available in hand cutting, die cutting, laser cutting, or water-jet cutting. We encourage you to send us a drawing, or blueprint so that we may be able to quoite the exact seal or gasket that you need.
Low Durometer Rubber: Durometer is the unit of measurement that is used to determine how flexible and resistant to physical indentation a particular rubber is. The higher the rating, the more physically durable the material will be. Since this commercial grade silicone rubber has a durometer of 50 Shore A, it is more on the flexible side. Silicone 50 durometer is the most popular of all silicones, due to its economical cost and availability in short lengths.
More Benefits:
- Demonstrates an excellent resistance to fungus
- Can be used outdoors thanks to UV and Ozone resistance
- Silicone sheet material is popular for use in laboratory settings
- Rolls come with a slight color variation that goes from lighter to darker gray
