The Corner of Three Cloth Inserted Rubber Rolls With Various Dimensions

It is likely that the contributions which rubber companies and rubber manufacturers make to our everyday lives is large underestimated. We may not recognize it, but these companies give to us an extremely vital product, prolific in many industries and applications. Did you perhaps stop to think of the many uses of rubber? Black sheets and rolls made from rubber are crucial for the creation of a number of products that serve to make our lives safer, easier, and more convenient. We can be thankful that there are an abundance of sources from which these sheets and rolls can be created, since they are in high demand and therefore used in high quantities. We would not want to be in a world in which these products were not available to us. To paint a clearer picture of the profundity of these products, we’ll go into some of the most basic yet most important uses of black rubber.

There are many uses for rubber; black sheets and rolls can be utilized towards the creation of many important products, such as:

Flooring and Matting: Rubber products are by no means confined to one sphere or sector of daily life. They are used industrially, commercially, and even within the home. Many rubber companies focus on producing flooring for all of these spheres that is safer and better for the body. Much of this flooring is designed to prevent slips and falls in the workplace and in other potentially hazardous areas. Furthermore, standing or moving for long periods is made easier on these floors, as they are often purposed to prevent fatigue and lessen the toll on the body.

Open Cell Rubber – EPDM

  • Operating temperature range from -40° F to 160° F
  • Easy to roll up for transportation and storage purposes
  • Pressure sensitive adhesive backing can be applied upon request
  • The cellular texture of the open cell rubber is visible on the surface

Excellent Compressibility: This EPDM rubber foam is among the most compressible products currently available. The cellular composition of this open cell rubber material is the secret behind its ability to compress. The cell structure is composed of tiny air pockets that have gaps in between them. When force is applied to the surface of the EPDM sponge, these air pockets will close in on themselves. The source of the pressure will also not face any resistance due to the soft nature of open cell sponge. The EPDM foam sheet will maintain its compressed form as long as the object applying the pressure remains.

Fast Recovery: The open cell EPDM has the ability to revert back to its original shape after compression. When the source of pressure is removed from the open cell rubber sheet’s surface, the air pockets within its cellular composition will revert back to their original shape. This helps the EPDM rubber foam maintain a working lifespan suitable to long-term use in applications that require constant compression.

Anti-vibration and Sound-proofing: Rubber manufacturers serve industrial and commercial companies by providing products that protect large, expensive machinery and equipment. Sheets and rolls of black rubber can be used to create mounts and pads for these machines, safeguarding both the equipment and the surfaces they rest upon. These pads absorb shocks and vibrations, keeping equipment steady and uninterrupted. Additionally, due to their vibration-reducing properties, these products are effective as sound-proofing materials as well.

Lining and Skirting: Thin sheets of rubber can line bins, launder chutes, ducts, and mixers due to their resistance to various materials, depending on the makeup of the sheets. These rubber products can also be cut into strips to serve as skirts and scrapers, and can be used in filters.

Transportation: Electrical wires that are likely to be treaded upon by large construction and freight vehicles need protection. Crossover pads made from rubber are excellent for safeguarding these wires while providing safe surfaces for vehicles. Furthermore, railroad cross-ties are increasingly made from rubber products, creating safer tracks for the significant amounts of freight transported on our nation’s railroads.

Gaskets and Seals: Thin rolls of rubber can be cut into gaskets and seals, which serve as protective padding for both large and small pieces of machinery. Most importantly, these components are present in automobiles, providing padding between floating pieces of metal and preventing the leakage of gases and liquids. Notably, the second largest constituent of materials in a modern car is rubber products. Besides gaskets and seals, think tires!

These are but five common uses of rubber. Black sheets and rolls can be cut and purposed for various other tasks industrially, commercially, in the home, and even in the cars we drive. This list is by no means exhaustive, and it neglects to mention the many specific industries that would be thankful to rubber manufacturers for the products they create. It is clear then that black rubber stands out above the rest, providing good reason for rubber companies to focus their efforts on its production and distribution. There is not a more useful or reliable product out there!
